Journal Entry #1 Why I Started Heavy Days

If I’m honest, the world probably doesn’t need another clothing brand....

There are already thousands of them. Every day there seems to be a new drop, a new logo, a new “must-have” hoodie. Most brands are built around the same idea- sell more clothes, create more hype, move on to the next thing.

So I’ve been asking myself a lot recently: why start Heavy Days?

The truth is, this idea didn’t come from a business plan. It came from thinking about something much more universal the fact that everyone has heavy days.

The kind of days where things feel overwhelming. The days where motivation is hard to find. The days where even small things can feel difficult.

I’ve had them. Everyone has.

But those days are rarely talked about in the world of clothing brands. Most brands sell perfection the highlight reel of life. Heavy Days is more interested in the reality that life is a mixture of good days, tough days and everything in between.

That idea kept coming back to me.

What if clothing could represent something more honest?

Something that acknowledges the difficult days but still carries a sense of optimism. A reminder that those days are part of the journey, not the end of it.

That’s where Heavy Days started.

Right now, this is still the early stage of the journey. Most of my time is spent figuring things out, speaking to suppliers, testing ideas, thinking about designs and working out how this brand can actually make a positive impact.

One thing I’ve been very clear about from the start is that if Heavy Days exists, it should give something back.

That’s why a donation from every hoodie will go to charities supporting people through difficult times. If people are going to spend money on clothing, then that purchase should mean something.

Heavy Days is still being built piece by piece.

Some days feel exciting. Some days feel uncertain. Some days feel heavy.

But that feels quite fitting.

Because the whole idea behind this brand is recognising that heavy days are part of the story.

And if you’re reading this, you’re here right at the beginning of mine.

Plot Twist: It'll all work out
